Thoughts on Girl in the Shadows
I liked this book. It was fun and quirky with a woman who saw more than people give her credit for. I liked Abby. I liked how she interacted with Derek Diamond. I liked how her super memory helped her piece together the facts of the case they were investigating. I liked that Derek wasn’t all he seemed. Or…well, maybe I’ll let you find out about Derek Diamond on your own.
The point is that I got a kick out of this book. Abby kind of finds her niche helping Derek. Plus, she manages to get on the road to straightening out her own life. Not that her life was a hot mess, but there were a few things she needed to spruce up around the house.
The mystery is intriguing, Abby and Derek make a good team (although sometimes I questioned some of his sidestepping answers), and I’m looking forward to seeing what shenanigans they get into next. Or what Derek drags them into. Whichever. *thumbs up*
