Thoughts on Never Never
Do you ever have that one author that you will just devour anything that they ever write? They could write a phone book and you’d be reading it cover to cover the day that it’s publishes? Well, that is Colleen Hoover for me.
Hoover has written books that have moved me in ways that no other book has. She has written books that made me laugh and then two paragraphs later made me cry. I am weak for her. I pre-order every single book of hers. I’m impatiently waiting for books in 2016 to be published.
But this book, it made me really sad. But for a completely different reason. It made me sad because I didn’t feel the way I usually feel about her books. It didn’t make me sad, it didn’t make it happy, it didn’t break my heart. It really didn’t do much for me.
I really did like the plot. I liked that the summary of the book was basically non-existent and we all went into the book knowing next to nothing about it. Maybe I had such high expectations that anything short of a masterpiece was going to fail me.
I don’t even know what to say about this book, and if you’ve read it then you would know why. Once I read it, I understood why the synopsis was so short and didn’t tell us much.
All I can say that it will keep you confused until the end. It will keep you on your toes. It’ll be a quick read and you’ll want someone that you can rage text when it’s over. Also, be prepared for the cliffhanger.
If you enjoy mystery but not gory or with death, this is the book for you. It’s unlike anything Colleen has written before and maybe that’s why I wasn’t keen on it. Maybe if I re-read it, it’ll be different. Here’s to hoping Never Never Part 2 feels more like the old Colleen!
