Hi everyone! I’m Beth and I’m the newest reviewer here at On a Book Bender. I’m been a huge fan of this blog for about a year now and I was so excited when I got the opportunity to be on the team of reviewers.
I really am a fun person that loved talking to people about books, so feel free to leave comments on my reviews, even if we have different opinions. I am a nice person (most of the time) and I think everyone has the right to their own bookish opinion.
That being said I should start this with explaining my reviewing tendencies. My rating are a little different than most and I don’t want someone to see a 3 star on a book they really liked and think that I hate it.
5 stars: I REALLY loved this book. I will be shoving this into your face. I will be re-reading this, probably multiple times.
4 stars: I liked it a lot. I would recommend it to you, even if its not a genre you may normally read because you may still like it. I may re-read it if I’m in the mood for it.
3 stars: It was good. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. I would recommend it to someone that was asking for that particular genre.
2 stars: I probably wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless they were searching specifically for this book. Will probably give away to the library or used bookstore because I don’t want it taking up room on my shelf.
1 star: I hardly give these out, but when I do it’s not pretty.
Now, onto my favourite genre! Mystery. Mystery. Mystery. I’ve been reading mystery books since I was a little kid, starting with Goosebumps and Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew books were my Harry Potter. Then in high school, I really started reading mystery books and I haven’t stopped since.
Lately, I’ve been reading more chick-lit/romance and young adult, but I’m more likely to pick up a mystery novel. I’m also really into sports biographies, but I don’t normally review them because it’s difficult. But I do love talking about sports /sports biographies so if that’s something you’re into, feel free to let me know!

Some of my bookish memories were from when I was younger and I would read books with my grandma. That’s where I got my love of reading. I would say, though, that my favourite bookish moments are when I finish a book and just look at my boyfriend and he says “did it ruin your life?” This happens more than I would like to admit to.
