Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge 1/26/2014

Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.

On a Book Bender Recap

Meanwhile, in Amanda’s World

What did I do this week? (I think I’ve already forgotten.) I…

…told you how to deal with feedback (without freaking out) on The Path of Least Revision
…reviewed Come the Chupacabra by Ffion Rhys with Kelly for GLA (with bonus amusing conversation on FB about the cover of the book)
…laughed my way through Typist #2 Spanking the Billionaire Novelist by Mimi Strong on FBNLT
…finally read Allegiant (hmph, review’s on GR until I review it in April)

Around the Book Blogging Community

I was SUPER EXCITED to see Jenny’s (Supernatural Snark) announcement that she’s moving in the book cover designing world. She designed both covers of my non-fiction books and I can’t wait to work with her on my fiction books too.

Ashley (Nose Graze) explained how to make your background full screen and confesses that she’s a disorganized blogger and likes it (LOVED IT). Even though I’m organized, I think it’s all about doing what works for you and not being sorry or feeling guilty for it and Ashley nails that.

Caitlin (The Siren’s Tale) talks about blogging authentically and what resonated with me was the discussion about apologetic bloggers. Bloggers do it too much. Quit apologizing for life.

Chuck Wending on why he doesn’t like guest posts… in a guest post. He nails the reason why I’m not a fan of  guest posts. It’s a lot of work for little return.

  1. Thanks for including me here :) Bloggers, and people in general, tend to apologize for too often. I’m completely guilty of it and catch myself daily. It’s always good to take a moment and remind yourself there’s no reason to apologize for living, having a life, or going through up’s and down’s.

    • Thanks for writing it! It’s something I’ve seen a lot of lately and just want to remind people there’s nothing wrong with being pulled away from blogging. Life happens!

    • YES! That’s another problem. Some posters don’t come back to keep up with the comments and sometimes the blog owner responds to all the comments, even when they’re directed at the guest poster. So confusing!
