They had a single night of passion before he deployed on a risky mission.
18 hours on a mission gone very wrong was all it took to shatter all their hopes and dreams.

The hero:
He survived 6 months of captivity and torture, kept alive by dreams of her.

The heroine:
She thought he was dead and moved on only to have her world fall apart once again.

Two people who have been hurt more than any two people should ever have to suffer. Can they find redemption and healing with each other or will another threat shatter what’s left of them?

A tortured hero.
A grieving heroine.
A serial rapist who won’t give up.

Warning: This book features graphic sexual violence which some readers could find disturbing.

An ending worthy of this series.

My Thoughts on Operation: Endurance

Good gravy! The poor Robertson family has had a tough year. From Chris’s “death” to Cassie’s stalker to Colton almost losing Pen to madman. Yet, they’ve weathered the storms and Cassie and Colton have found happiness. And now it’s Chris’s turn.

Seriously, poor Chris. He’s dealing with physical issues from his imprisonment and torture. Major ones. He has a lot of emotional baggage that came from his capture, too. As one would expect. Joining Colton and Jake in the new business has given him a reason to push himself to heal but it’s slow going. Being near Julie when he feels like half a man isn’t easy and the emotional toll that takes seems even more brutal than the physical.

And Julie? MY GAWD! The poor girl is practically a walking time bomb. Just when her life is starting to turn around and she’s getting a handle on her issues, life beats her down with a REALLY BIG STICK. She deals with it as best she can but it’s not pretty. Chris’s seeming disinterest in her romantically is a pretty brutal blow, although he didn’t mean for it to be. The two of them have a few communication issues they need to work through, clearly.

Throw a man with sinister intentions into the mix and Chris and Julie are fighting for more than just each other’s love — they’re fighting to stay alive. Chris gets injured as much here as he did when he was captured. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit. But he is roughed up quite a few times.

A little heartbreaking, a little nerve-wracking, and sexy enough to make me grin — I’m sad to see this series end. It’s been a crazy, dangerous ride and I’ll miss these guys. (until I read the novellas. *finger guns*)
