Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.
Announcements
Man. Have I got announcements for you. Bear with me.
-I am officially putting the word out there: On a Book Bender is looking for another associate reviewer. I’m looking for someone to commit to at least two reviews per month. If you know someone who might be interested or if YOU are interested, please email me. (Silent readers: if you’ve ever thought about blogging, now’s your chance. Come talk to me. I’d love to have you on my team.)
-I want to thank Brianna @ The Book Vixen, Kristin @ My Parahangover, and anyone else who nominated me/On a Book Bender for the BBTC awards of Overachiever, Twitter Queen, and Best Overall Blog. I also want to thank everyone voting for me. You all ROCK and it’s people like YOU who make me excited to be involved in the blogosphere and who drive me to make On a Book Bender the best community it can be. You honor and humble me with your nominations.
-On that note, and because I’ve been focusing on marketing lately, I am asking you to help spread the word. Go vote. Go vote for me. Listen. You’ve nominated and voted for me for a reason, right? I think the best way to say thank you for your nominations is to campaign for it. If you thought I deserve the nomination, then I’m going to act like I do–I trust your opinion. So if you haven’t voted yet, get your vote on HERE and HERE.
On a Book Bender Recap
- Kelly reviews: Optical Delusions in Deadwood by Ann Charles (8) — Violet’s full of sass and snark!
- Top Off Tuesday — The title of the book alone was worth it, don’t you think?
- Review: Trapped by Kevin Hearne (8) – The IDC series keeps getting better. [Is it June yet? No? Damn.]
- Under the Ever Night Read-Along sign up. READ WITH US!
Amanda Around the Blogosphere
- FBNLT: Amanda and Kelly review Taken by the Tentacles
- FBNLT: Amanda reviews Star Kissed
- FBNLT: Penetrating the Depths! (February Edition)
- GAYLE FORMAN linked up my Just One Day review. Um. That was pretty fucking awesome.
Meanwhile, in Amanda’s World
Omahgawd, you guys. I was busy this week. I worked–A LOT–on my website. You can see what I did on my front page in the picture below. I also created product pages (Blog Smarter is coming to you this week! I hope) and managed to figure out how to make a floating div. (They’re kinda scary, but I figured it out without too much trouble.) I wrote a couple business posts, I created a newsletter opt in freebie. (If you’re not on the list yet, you can still get on it in time for my next email on Tuesday. If you’re already on my list and want the freebie–don’t worry. It’s coming your way on Tuesday.)
One thing I’ve been working on lately is writing copy. And I have been LOVING it. It’s all about stretching your writing abilities and marketing yourself. It’s been fun. Yes, I have fun working. It’s part of the reason why you should vote for me for Overachiever. *ahem*
On 25 Hour Books
- Tattoo Tuesday {76} — Hogwarts
- {Time to Talk} — The Need to Reread
- {Review} The Ripple Effect (Rhiannon’s Law #3) {4 stars} — fell deep into the devastating darkness
- {Fit Friday} Tabata
Around the Book Blogging Community
- Jamie (Perpetual Page Turner) has started a new discussion series on how her habits have changed before and after she become a blogger. In the first installment, she talks about how blogging has affected the time in between two books.
- Allison (BurnTheMidnightOil on deviantART) brought to my attention an Iron Druid Chronicles group on deviantART. If you’re not familiar with what DA is, it’s basically an online community of artists. The fan art there is AMAZING.
- Kat (Cuddlebuggery) had an excellent article on why stats don’t matter. I particularly loved her point about how chasing numbers is never enough–you’ll always want more.

You are most definitely an Overachiever. You deserve every nomination & vote coming your way. I’m ready for nap after just reading what you’ve been up to.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender March 3, 2013 at 9:54 am
lol. True story: when I received the nomination for Overachiever, I decided it would be a good way to test out marketing tactics that I could eventually apply to my business. ;)
Mary @ BookSwarm March 3, 2013 at 8:26 am

“Double check to make sure you’re not going to cause drama.” HA. If only have of us did this…*le sigh*
Amanda @ On a Book Bender March 4, 2013 at 1:13 pm
It’s the “think before you speak” mantra of Internet commenting.
(Also, I’d hazard a guess that many of us don’t even realize HOW our words come across. So we may think we’re saying something that won’t cause drama, but people interpret our words differently.)
Nikki Steele March 4, 2013 at 2:48 pm
Woooot! I wish I could vote for you as Overachiever TWICE, because well you are but then that would just make me an overachiever. Damn. Sending good vibes for your upcoming wins :D
Amanda @ On a Book Bender March 4, 2013 at 9:32 pm
Thank you, Nikki! :D
Tara SG (25 Hour Books) March 4, 2013 at 5:03 pm

Amanda @ On a Book Bender March 4, 2013 at 9:35 pm
You’re fine. You’re signed up twice, but that’s easily fixed. :)
Brianna (The Book Vixen) March 5, 2013 at 5:14 pm
As soon as I saw the ‘Overachiever’ category, you were the FIRST person to come to mind. LOL
Amanda @ On a Book Bender March 5, 2013 at 7:13 pm
I’ll take it! I really do appreciate the nomination. :)
