It’s that time again — Tuesday! — which means I attempt to brighten your day with half-naked men. Read on at your own risk. Top Off Tuesdays was started by Felicia, Christi and me. It is where we (and you!) share the book covers that make us swoon. Head over to Felicia’s blog to share your Top Off Tuesday link or to see what everyone has posted.
Because everyone needs a piece of ass every now and again. You can all thank Kelly for this one!

Robert Louis Stevenson’s Kidnapped has long been considered a masterpiece of high adventure. In The Low Road, James Lear reinvents this classic as a satirical, queer, coming-of-age story. In 1705 Scotland, young Charles Gordon reaches adulthood ignorant of his family’s heroic past in the Jacobite Rebellion. He sets out to discover the truth about his father, but instead is kidnapped by mercenaries and sold into slavery as the plaything of a group of corrupt military officials. But Charlie’s talents, in and out of bed, win him powerful friends as well as dangerous foes. The false priest, Lebecque, violent Captain Robert, depraved General Wilmott — all contribute to Charlie’s “education.” Eventually leading a makeshift army of sex-crazed layabouts, Charlie faces the might of the English forces. Will he triumph, or is it better to retreat to the safety of his sybaritic lifestyle? James Lear expertly interweaves spies and counterspies, scheming servants and sadistic captains, tavern trysts and prison orgies, into this delightfully erotic work that can take its place alongside his acclaimed novels The Back Passage and Hot Valley.

I’m wondering what Photoshop magic they did at that special juncture because I’m seeing a Ken-doll-like void there…
I’ll focus on the piece of ass instead. Splayed on the bed. Waiting to be jumped upon. Nice!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 9:55 am
It’s always better to focus on the piece of ass. :)

Holy sh*t. He’s like a naked spiderman! What’s he doing clinging to the floor (wall?) like that? It looks like carpet to me rather than a bed. GET UP NAKED MAN. And turn around if you please ;-)
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 9:57 am
lol. Do you think if we chanted loud enough, he’d turn around? That would certainly be nice.
Sam @ Realm of Fiction February 12, 2013 at 10:04 am
Ooo…ee.
I’ll admit, I stared for a little while. ;) Probably not a cover I could flaunt around in public, though. hah.
Thanks for sharing!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 10:20 am
This is definitely stare worthy, Sam. I would agree! Though perhaps it is a cover best suited to an ereader…with color.
Nikki Steele February 12, 2013 at 11:02 am
Oh these titles alone are like gold! Back Passage? Hot Valley? Low Road? I want to shake the author’s hand for being so damn witty.
Also, I think it would be fantastic to read this one in some public place. The looks alone would be worth it.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 11:07 am
Oh yeah. The titles are gold. As are the covers. But then, you’ll find that out later this month. ;)
o.O You’re probably right. The looks would be priceless.
Jess @ Gone with the Words February 12, 2013 at 12:09 pm
He must be looking for his contact lens. I should get in there and help him.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 12:13 pm
You really should, Jess. I bet he needs help. You’re so kind and giving.

I’m so getting fired for continuing to look at these at work…
Also, I’ll be suggesting Shane add some more squats to his workout routine… *goes back for one more look*
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 3:48 pm
Yeah. I don’t know why you keep checking these at work. You should know me well enough to know that it’s all NSFW! =P

Sarah (saz101) February 12, 2013 at 7:58 pm
Wow, uh… Amanda, I think you’ve outdone yourself. I seriously think…
OK, I’d like to say I can’t stop staring at the cover, but I can’t stop staring at the BLURB :O
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 12, 2013 at 8:30 pm
Why thank you, Sarah. I do try. :D

Is he humping the rug or climbing the wall. I guess it doesn’t really matter. I just really want to smack that hinney hard enough to leave my hand print.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender February 13, 2013 at 10:42 am
RAWR. Get him good, Vanessa! :)
Cayce February 13, 2013 at 5:43 pm
