Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.
On a Book Bender Recap
- Kelly Reviews: Release by M.R. Merrick (7) — Oh Chase! Don’t be a douche.
- Top Off Tuesday — Many people missed the cornbrator link. It made me sad. SAD.
- Review: Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta (8) — I need more Melina Marchetta now!
- An Ode to My Reading Companion — I talk about what the boyfriend’s dog meant to me. The responses to this post remind me of how amazing all my readers are. <3 Thank you all for sharing your kind words and the pictures of your reading companions.

I’ve been hitting the business work hard. With luck, I’ll be able to share a FREEBIE with you next week. Yes, that’s right. Freebie. Big stuff, my friends. BIG STUFF. Many of you also probably know that I had my dog niece, Lucy, with me Wednesday night/Thursday. I say that you probably know because there was an influx of Lucy pictures. But how could I not? She’s so damn cute.
Around the Book Blogging Community
- A mini-Bloggiesta is coming!
- Kelly (Radiant Shadows) discusses whether intent excuses plagiarism. Good timing considering the recent plagiarism scandal. However, I think one thing we still need to discuss is how to deal with plagiarism when it arises. I saw a lot of unnecessary drama this week.
- Jamie (Pepetual Page Turner) discusses LOVE TRIANGLES. Love this post! (And Jamie.)

Lauren @ Lose Time Reading January 20, 2013 at 8:33 am
OMG! These have been some of my favorite types of posts for awhile… I’m always missing out on fun stuff happening around the blogs. I really look forward to Sunday morning with a coffee and the Clock Rewinders posts, lol. This post re-confirmed a little why I love them so much – There is a Bloggiesta coming and I would have MISSED it if it hadn’t of been for you(or atleast not known until the day of!). Thanks so much for sharing everything every week and I hope you continue to do them for a while :D Have a good week!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 20, 2013 at 10:10 am
Lauren, your comment has totally made my day. :) I’m so glad the CR posts are useful! I will definitely continue doing them.
Kristilyn (Reading in Winter) January 20, 2013 at 9:02 am
Lucy is CRAZY adorable! I just want to cuddle her through the screen!
So you’re still reading The Immortal Rules? I’m interested to see your thoughts on it … I really disliked it.
Have another good week, Amanda! Sounds like you’re keeping busy with work stuff! Good for you! :)
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 20, 2013 at 10:13 am
Gotta get in a lot of the puppy cuddles now–pretty sure Lucy’s going to be 50 pounds when full grown. The cuddles change a bit when they’re that big.
By “still reading,” I mean it’s been sitting on my bookshelf for the past few weeks. I’m only currently reading it in the sense that I haven’t finished it.
Amy @ bookgoonie January 20, 2013 at 10:49 am
Ya’lls FBNLT book titles this week are flipping hilarious. I wonder what they could possibly be about.
Sounds like you’ve been picking up some bueno books lately. Hoping the trend continues ;D
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 20, 2013 at 11:21 am
Kelly finds all the good ones. For serious.
The few books I’ve picked up lately have been good. I just need to get better at picking up books to read.
Ellie January 20, 2013 at 11:25 am
Not more drama? I had my head in a book and missed it, which is probably for the best.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 20, 2013 at 11:26 am
Yup, more drama. One plagiarist, many blogs plagiarized. (I’d suggest sticking with your book.)
Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal January 20, 2013 at 12:06 pm
Hi, stalker! Lolololol!
I love that you loved both Summoning the Night and Firelight! <3 <3 <3
You know what we need this week? A good dose of book-reading shenanigans. LET’S DO THIS!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 20, 2013 at 12:09 pm
Yes to shenanigans! I’m on my way to reading Tricked RIGHT NOW.
(So, remember how one of my goals is to read 30 minutes every day? I’ve been using listening to my audiobook as part of those 30 minutes, but I think I need to change that and make it so that I do 30 minutes of reading an ebook or physical book every day.)
Hannah @ Once Upon A Time January 20, 2013 at 4:17 pm
There was drama? I’m glad I don’t pay attention half the time sometimes.
The doggy is so adoooorable!!
A Bloggiesta I’ll actually get chance to do? Le win. :)
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 21, 2013 at 10:45 am
Yay for finally being able to participate in Bloggiesta!
Sarah (saz101) January 20, 2013 at 5:10 pm
I AM SORRRRRY. I MISSED THE CORNBRATOR, TOO.
I am so glad you re-linked me ^__^
Aaaaah, love your round-ups. Search terms and and and ^__^
♥
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 21, 2013 at 10:47 am
Noooo! The cornbrator! It’s so FUN. And makes the cover so much worse!
You know what would make my search terms better? Including the ones from Free Books Need Love, Too. There was one about a “double anal experience” the other day. o.O
Smash Attack January 21, 2013 at 9:45 am
I agree with unnecessary drama. I did not want to go there, but had no right in telling the others how they should react. I still haven’t responded because I feel it is useless at this point.
Glad to hear you are working hard! And Lucy is adorbs! AND YAY FOR MINI-BLOGGIESTA!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender January 21, 2013 at 10:51 am
Well, as long as the plagiarized content is gone, I suppose a response isn’t necessary.
I am always working hard! (It’s just making sure I have something to show for it. Ha.)
