Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.

Meanwhile, in Amanda’s World
I joined Pinterest. It’s for my business, but I’m trying to learn ALL THE SOCIAL MEDIA! And I have other nefarious plans. (Actually, they’re pretty non-nefarious, but nefarious is such a fun word, don’t you think?) Kelly and I are also VERY DEEP in planning stages of various things. (She’s in head deep, I’m in shoulder deep. It’s because she’s short, not because she’s doing more.) We can’t reveal all of what we’re doing yet, but…SOON, my pretties. SOON. I also neglected my reading this week. IT WAS TERRIBLE. I was busy with other (secret-y) things and got caught up in that. I did make time to read a couple books, though. Be proud of me.
Around the Book Blogging Community
- Mary (Book Swarm) posted about genre burnout (been there, done that) and she shared an AMAZING video about social media, which I truly, absolutely love. (It makes me want to branch out into social media management for my business.)
- Small (Small Review) talks about THE SECOND BOOK and the joy it can bring.
- Smash (Smash Attack Reads!) asks us about VILLIANS and what we think about them.
- Chelsea (Vampire Book Club) wants to know what our favorite kissing scenes are.
- Mandi (Never Too Fond of Books) wonders if mixing formats (e.g., paperback with audiobook) is a good thing with series.
- Kelly (Reading the Paranormal) announces the 2013 Why Buy the Cow? Reading Challenge. AND I’M CO-HOST! So, check that out. Sign up. Love the freebies. They need love too, you know.
- Kelly and I created a BOUT OF BOOKS FACEBOOK PAGE. Please go like it. (Randomly, if you like us [or any Facebook page] with your PAGE account, it does not actually contribute to the page’s likes numbers. Not that we care one way or the other, but just an FYI for you to be aware of. The likes number you see on any Facebook page is from people accounts.)

*is so proud of you I can’t stand it* Also, looking forward to finding out about the secret-y things!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 10:55 am
Well, let’s just hope that all my secret-y things come to fruition so that I can unveil them! ;)
Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal December 2, 2012 at 12:11 am
It’s so hard having all these fun things in the works and to not be able to talk about them yet. *double frowny face for the secrets but triple smiles for all the forthcoming fun things*
Under the Never Sky *FLAILY FLAILY FLAIL FLAIL*
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 10:55 am
It’s SO HARD TO WAIT. I agree.
Under the Never Sky is so flail worthy.
Mary @ BookSwarm December 2, 2012 at 6:46 am
Oh PINTEREST! Highly addictive, especially for us visual types. Here’s me: http://pinterest.com/marybrebner/
I’m super-excited to see what you’re up to!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 10:57 am
I found you! (And one of my Pinterest boards actually hints a bit at some of my plans, so…there you have it.)
Kristin @ My ParaHangover December 2, 2012 at 7:48 am
Okay, I went to FB and liked Bout of Books… and then I got sucked into FB world for like 30 minutes. UGH… social media needs to not be so social!!! That is why I get absolutely nothing productive done, evah!!
Under the Never Sky… still sitting on my shelf. Grrrrr. Guess I’ll have to move that up my “will flail” shelf. :D
Can’t wait to see what shenanigans you and Kelly are up to!!!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 10:59 am
Thus is the danger of social media. Thanks for liking, though!
Yes! Under the Never Sky! :)
Smash Attack December 2, 2012 at 9:27 am
I had no clue about the FB like thing with Pages. I do my best to keep my personal FB account as book-free as possible, though they definitely leak in there. I liked BoB with BOTH, though. Booyah!
Glad to hear of your awesome projects. You always have the best ideas. And that line about Kelly being short cracked me up.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 11:05 am
I totally and completely understand wanting to keep book blog and personal Facebook accounts separate (and to a certain extent, I do this as well). But when I was working on gaining likes for my business page (you need at least 30 likes to get stats), it was somewhat frustrating to see pages likes not count toward the likes number.
Speaking of ideas! I will email you in a bit. Something you said about me has INSPIRED me and I want to get your opinion!
Small Review December 2, 2012 at 9:35 am
oooo secrety things? Sounds fun :)
Glad to hear you liked Under the Never Sky! I’ve been wanting to read that book for so long now. I bought a used copy a few weeks ago, so I’m getting closer to that goal.
Thanks for linking me!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 11:07 am
Secrety things are fun! :)
I hope you get to read Under the Never Sky soon! (And that you like it!)
Paul R. Hewlett December 2, 2012 at 9:48 am
Very excited to hear what you have planned. Best of luck with it. Thanks for the enjoyable post.

Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 11:08 am
Thanks, Paul! I may need all the luck I can get. ;)
Kristilyn (Reading in Winter) December 2, 2012 at 10:19 am
Yay! You read Into the Hollow! *flails with you*
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 11:09 am
Now I just need to write my review. I told Kelly that I don’t want to write my review because that’s basically the same thing as admitting that I have to wait for more EIT books. And I don’t want that.
Jenny December 2, 2012 at 5:32 pm
I too joined Pinterest Amanda, and you know what I’ve done with it? Absolutely nothing. I have an account and that is it. I fail at all social media:) Love the search terms, I know when I think of vibrators your blog is the first thing that comes to my mind. You’re welcome ;-)
PS – Scarlet was awesome. It’s in the mail to you tomorrow.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 2, 2012 at 6:04 pm
lol. I’m using it for website design inspiration at this point, so it’s been kind of fun learning the ropes. There are SO MANY THINGS! Though I give it another month before I a) give it up or b) become completely addicted to it.
YAY! I’m looking forward to it!
Sarah (saz101) December 3, 2012 at 10:02 pm
Ugh. This was a shitty reading week for me, also. I finished my first book in a few weeks though, which was good, but still. SHITTY.
AND NEFARIOUS IS AN AWESOME WORD.
And one I use alarmingly often O__o
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 4, 2012 at 9:43 am
Sarah, you and nefarious go together well, somehow. In a good way.
Uh oh. Are you in a reading slump?
Sarah (saz101) December 4, 2012 at 5:56 pm
Is it peculiar that I take that as a compliment? XD
I’m in the most epic reading slump. Like, the biggest since I started blogging. I used to get this before and, whatever, I just wouldn’t read for a month or so. But… ugh. Even the books I’m DYING to read just feel a little insipid atm. And I know it’s not them. It’s me.
And *sigh*
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 4, 2012 at 5:58 pm
Yes. That’s EXACTLY how I felt for nearly two months. I just started coming out of it, but then I got caught up with my business stuff and put reading the on back burner. :(
Sarah (saz101) December 4, 2012 at 7:04 pm
YES. Every time I think I’m about to get on top of it SOMETHING changes or… *sigh*
It is what it is, I guess. And I know I’ll snap out of it eventually :)
Amanda @ On a Book Bender December 4, 2012 at 7:06 pm
Yes, you will come back to it. You can’t stay away FOREVER. The books NEED you, Sarah.
