Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.
On a Book Bender Recap
- Review: Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers — Rekindled my love for historical fiction.
- Top Off Tuesday — But it’s an angel, Ruby. Just like you.
- Review: The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart — A fun look into teenage girldom.
- Are you a Midwestern Book Blogger? — Jacinda and I are looking to put together a site for Midwestern BBs. Lists of bloggers in the area, events, etc
- Okay, I’m here. Now what? — quick guide to getting around my blog.
Meanwhile, in Amanda’s World
- Due to some issues earlier this week, I ended up switching hosts. I think that mostly everything else transferred over fine. Cialina is amazing!
- Piggy backing off of that, I should have had the interview with Kevin Hearne posted on Friday, but I had decided not to mess with my blog this week, and therefore didn’t. BUT! You can see it over at The Unread Reader.
- I pre-ordered my copy of Insurgent.
- Dear god, this semester needs to END.
Around the Book Blogging Community
Announcements
- Hannah @ Once Upon a Time is still looking for associate reviewers
- Rie from Mission to Read is look for DFW area book bloggers who want to stay informed of bookish events in the area.
- Bout of Books 4.0 will be May 14th through May 20th. Mark your calendars now! If you’re interested in hosting a challenge, sign up over at the Bout of Books blog.
Discussion Posts
- Both Logan and Smash took part in the discussion about spoilers on Monday.
- Ruby talked about libraries!
- There was a big fuster cluck this week about BEA denying bloggers registration for BEA, which prompted some discussion posts about what it means to be a book blogger. I particuarly enjoyed Jenny’s (Supernatural Snark) and Mary’s (Book Swarm).

LOL–your smushed mailbox made me laugh. Hope next week, the mailbox is pretty again!
Thanks for the shout-out! You’re awesome. :) Um, what’s with the weird search for “stinky but blog”? Very strange.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 9:29 am
I hope so, too.
I believe that search term happened because of the Hounded read-along and my question about Oberon sniffing butts.
Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal April 8, 2012 at 8:33 am
I’m super excited about this coming week’s reviews. Eeeee.
PS: After the semester ends we’ll go and cause some serious shenanigans.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 9:30 am
SO AM I!!!! Especially after this weekend. Rawr. Like, literally, RAWR.
Yes, please! I am so shenanigans deprived that I am shriveling a little.
Smash Attack April 8, 2012 at 9:28 am
Ohhhh. I need to pre-order my copy of Insurgent!
Hahaha! You have a stinky but(t) blog!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 9:32 am
I’m thinking about giving a copy of Insurgent away for my blogoversary, so if you don’t pre-order one… ;)
Ellie April 8, 2012 at 9:31 am
BEA just seems to be one big cause of stress. Not being American, i try not to pay any attention but it still leaks through to me.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 9:32 am
I’m American, and I try not to pay any attention too, but this one was pretty big, it seems.
Amy @ bookgoonie April 8, 2012 at 9:45 am
Great links as usual.
Wishes for semester to end soon for you. Stop assigning essays ;)
I want people to like me, stop by, and I’d love to get books from publishers BUT who needs the stress & drama. I’m too old & I teach HS everyday. Me wants FUN.
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 10:13 am
Gah! No more essays! I can’t STAND IT! And yet, I have at least 3 different essays I have or will assign (and therefore grade) in the next couple weeks.
Ruby April 8, 2012 at 11:56 am
Where is DWF? What is DWF?
Jenny’s post-BEA denial, er, post, was pretty awesome. It made me feel a lot better, not just about the denial, but about blogging anxieties in general. Plus, the conversation between Jenny and her husband was hysterical.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area. In Texas.
Ruby April 8, 2012 at 2:54 pm
That’s what I thought, but I don’t understand why the W came first? Am I not meant to understand?
Amanda @ On a Book Bender April 8, 2012 at 7:03 pm
It was a typo.
