Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.
On a Book Bender Recap
- Review: Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler –got me over my reading slump?
- Top Off Tuesday — one final blanket!
- Review: Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday – Half snort, half bwahaha giggles abounded.
- Thankful Thursday [4] — the final installment!
- Fangtastic Fridays — also the final installment
- Amanda’s Informal Book Club — because reading with friends is so much more fun!

*thumbs down again*
Around the Book Blogging Community
- Maureen Johnson has some great advice about editing in her Auntie MJ posts for NaNoWriMo.
- 25 Reasons Readers Will Quit Reading Your Story — do you agree with these?
- The giant green dildo makes a comeback at Supernatural Snark!
- And in perhaps the biggest news making piece this week, Google announces that it is pulling GFC from non-Blogger sites. Since I have never been able to have GFC, this is not an issue for me, and I honestly don’t think GFC is a good way of tracking your followers, but please make sure your favorite non-Blogger blogs are in your feed reader or blog roll or whatever you use to follow people. Note: you can always add non-Blogger blogs manually to your Blogger dashboard. And, just as a friendly reminder, as long as all this is going on, please make sure that you have updated MY blog address to onabookbender.com on your blog roll or that you are following my Feedburner feed. Thank you!
Search Terms
mr sexy tuesday — This search term tickles me.
what happens in the unbecoming of mara dyer — Stuff. So much stuff happens that it blows your mind and leaves you wondering what happened and then you feel like you have to read the book all over again. SO MUCH STUFF.
is there going to be a second book to blood magic? — Yes. The Blood Keeper comes out in 2012.
sensual man fantasy — I see Top Off Tuesdays is fast becoming a hit.
There didn’t seem to be a lot of fun search terms this week, so here are some fun spam comments I got. Each new line is a different comment. For some reason, they are all characterized by one very obvious spelling error.
Four score and seven mnitues ago, I read a sweet article. Lol thanks
You’re a real deep thinker. Thanks for sahrnig.
For the love of God, keep writing these aritecls.
Hey, that post leaves me feeling foloish. Kudos to you!

Books I Received
I do believe this picture is appropriate:

I did, however, hear of a romance novel magnetic poetry kit from Jen of Fictitious Delicious, and after being informed they were only $5 at our local Half-Price Books, well. How could I resist?
Best $5 I have ever spent.

He dream of wearing nothing but her tattered dress. *snort*
Smart Bitches would love it. I want to READ that novel XD
Poor mailbox… honestly, I *feel* like your mailbox looks in that pic–it’s been a week of CONSTANT rain, followed by two 30C days in a row. Am meeeellltttiiiing.
You should see the inside flap. It talks about hungry loins. HUNGRY LOINS. That was the selling point for me.
Oh Sarah, it’s just barely been above 0C here lately. We’re plunging into winter and you get summer. We need some kind of happy medium.
*dies laughing all over again* Best interpretation of giant green dildo ever.. xD
The giant green dildo will never die!
I’m still unsure of how to feel about the GFC thing, but I do plan to send a newsletter to those subscribed through it to ask them if they’ll kindly follow via RSS or email or something. Just in case, I’d rather be proactive than be left scrambling when it disappears.
I think I heard that those who follow through GFC will still be subscribed to your RSS feed. I THINK. Still, it would be good to double check, and since you have Feedburner, you still have a decent way of tracking your followers. It’s not the best option, but it works.
Yeah, and you can also get Subscriber number details from Google Reader, under Feed Settings.
It’s the best way I have of tracking my subscribers, actually, since I’ve never had GFC.
